Neurodiagnostic Testing
Swedish Hospital's Department of Laboratory Medicine offers several neurodiagnostic tests for people with a variety of conditions, including epilepsy, encephalitis, muscular dystrophy and peripheral nerve damage.
Neurodiagnostic Tests Offered at Swedish Hospital
EEG (Electroencephalogram)
Assists patients with seizure disorders, epilepsy and encephalitis and helps with medication management.
Available Tuesday through Thursday between 7:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and Fridays at 8:30 a.m.
EMG (Electromyogram)
Detects abnormal electrical activity in muscles. Assists patients with muscular dystrophy, muscle inflammation, pinched nerves, disc herniation, peripheral nerve damaged, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Myasthenia Gravis.
Available Mondays between 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. (Dr. Park) and 2 to 3 p.m. (Dr. Glassenberg), Wednesdays between 10 and 11:00 a.m. (Dr. Glassenberg) and Fridays between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (Dr. Park).
EP (Evoked Potential) – Assesses nervous system function, aids in the diagnosis of nervous system lesions and abnormalities and monitors degenerative disease progression (Multiple Sclerosis).
Available Thursday and Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
