It is estimated that 1 in 8 people will develop Alzheimer’s disease by the age of 65. Current medical research shows great promise in preventing the onset of cognitive decline common with Alzheimer’s disease, and yet no new medications have been approved since 2003.

Steve Satek, president of Great Lakes Clinical Trials, and Dr. Ronnie Mandal, an internal medicine physician at Swedish Covenant Hospital, will provide an expert examination of the history of Alzheimer’s disease research and clinical trials conducted locally in Andersonville, as well as internationally.
